If I could only figure out what driver to supply when the New Hardware Wizard runs and lists Net as the device, that would likely solve latitud problem. I am beginning to beleive that the card is not able to connect to my wireless network at all, because I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate iwreless bit and still not able to connect to the detected wlan.
I still want to try get XP up and running on my wireless.

The problem “Unknown device” is still there, and the wireless network will not work. It should have both the wired and wireless adapters listed. I have downloaded both the Broadcom x and Dell latitude d800 wireless adapter drivers from the Dell website and reinstalled those. My wireless network details: At one point, I even tried connecting to the web via Ethernet and letting the wizard look there for the driver – dell latitude d800 wireless to no avail.

Another thing to try is to check the card is seated correctly and to reseat it.
